Because I want to AW. My baby has been sleeping crazy well for the past week. Here are his long sleep stretches since Sunday night: 10.5 hours, 8.5h, 9.5h, 11.75h (!!), 10h. He's STTN, at least for now. Wednesday night he was asleep at 8 and didn't wake up until 7:45, marking the first time I was in bed after him and up before him. On the other nights, he went right back to sleep after waking to eat; he clocks 12-13 hours total each night (he's still out now after waking at 6 this morning to eat). This kind of makes up for his new normal of only taking 30-45 minute catnaps during the day.
The only downside is that if this continues, I'll actually have to wake him up for day care. I'd kind of prefer him to wake on his own.

I have a question for this board, but it's one of those topics that always descends into craziness on one side or the other, so I'm very afraid to go there. I want to hear answers from the intelligent women here and not the weirdos on my BMB.

Generally, asking for experiences rather than opinions can dial back the crazy. But some topics are just obviously divisive.
I'm really bored. So I hope you post rather than just tease.

It's a topic that I know you'll love too! I guess I'll post.
Poor DS has had a stuffy nose ever since we got back from Disney. I feel bad because I slacked with the hand sanitized after he licked the pole on one of the busses. He has been sleeping great again, back to his usual 13 hours a night. Thank God because if he wasn't I don't think I could survive holidays with the inlaws on little sleep.
My baby won't come close to STTN on days after I work. I can't decide whether to be grateful since my pumping output isn't amazing or just irritable. Mainly I'm irritable. And I kind of presently hate all of you guys with STTN babies, sorry, it isn't personal.
Also she has been completely insane today and we are supposed to go to a baby shower at 4. I can't decide whether or not to leave her with my husband. I am hoping she calms down soon.
FWIW, I assume E's sleep will go to hell when I return to work January 7. We want to move him into his crib in his own room, but are purposely waiting until after he starts day care. No way am I schlepping back and forth to his room all night if he starts waking every few hours.
Op that is awesome! My aw is that ds slept from 10:30 to 3 and then 4 to 8 and I feel like a new person! If he slept like 8 hours straight I would think something was wrong haha.

I've seen so many posts both here and TB that claim that siblings sharing a room is some great and wonderful thing. It's not. It totally blows. My girls have been sharing a room for close to a month now and I've hated (mostly) every minute of it. In that time, they've both been sick and DD2 has been cutting several teeth which hasn't helped. However, it now takes my kids up to 2 hours some days to fall asleep at naptime and at bedtime. DD2 has taken to screaming her head off at bedtime unless DH or I lay down on the floor until she falls asleep. If we let her scream, DD1 starts crying. They both used to be SO easy to put to bed and used to STTN beautifully. Not anymore.
We only have a 2 bedroom house and we don't want to move DD2 back into our room either so we have to make this shit work.

I hate you
I decided to knit my gma a neck warmer and figured I had just enough time to knit like crazy for the next 4 days. while looking for needles in my sewing room I found a nice finished cabled scarf that just needed the ends darned in. My weekend just got easier!
I took all next week off but DH is going to work, so it will be just me with the baby. I love him, but I am really anxious about so much alone time. He naps really well at daycare, but home is a crapshoot, which makes me feel like a bad mom.
On the plus side, DS has slept from 7pm to 4 or 5 am everyday this week and I hope this trend continues.
we moved Squirms to her room last night (still in the RnP, switching to the crib soon) and she slept from 10-8 and I slept from midnight-10:45 since dh got up with her. It was awesome, hopefully she sleeps as well in the crib.

Nice!
I'm hopeful for our transition to the crib, since he's been in the bassinet level of the PnP since he was about six weeks. The crib isn't really any different. I totally dread ditching the swaddle, though, which I know we'll need to do in the next couple months. Swaddling is magic. :-(
transitioning from the swaddle was no big deal for us and she LOVED her swaddle. We weaned her off of it right about 5 months. She had started kicking her leg out of the miracle blanket, which would wake her up. So we switched to a sleep sack and she STTN that first night.
Squirms has taken naps in her crib before, we'll see how she does overnight...dh is going to set up the video monitor this weekend I think we'll try to move her to the crib this next week. I go back to work on Jan. 3rd and will be setting my alarm for 6 and don't want to wake her until I've showered (unless she gets up early, then I'll feed her and then shower myself).
I'm a bit scared for Christmas, the amount of gifts for DS (10 mo) is going to be insane. He has 6 from us, and probably 20 from my parents :-| My dad says there are 7 gifts for DS from him alone (not counting my mom & Santa). He is going to be so spoiled, and where do I store all this stuff?!?!
