Pet insurance?

Anyone have it? Pros/cons?

My dog was diagnosed with IMHA 2 months ago and isn't making as good of progress as the vet would like. He might be switching her to another medication that costs $400 a month!!! Thinking of signing up for pet insurance but I wanted to see if it was really worth it. TIA!

Sadly, pet insurance probably wouldn't cover it -- pre-existing condition.

Sadly this is true, but I have Petsbest, and it has been wonderful for us, for all of our dogs. Paid 80% for 2 ACL repairs for our bully, 1 car accident repair, and countless K/D issues with our chessie. It has saved us around 7-8k in the last 5 years.

We have vpi and if you can show a clean bill of health for 6 months you can get some pre-existing conditions lifed.

Knock on wood, I haven't had to use our insurance, but the peace of mind is worth it.
