Hi ladies,
I'm new to this board but I'm hoping some of you will be able to offer some awesome cleaning wisdom. I'm living in a new house so I don't know the full history of the washing machine but it's about four years old (the seller had left it). Anyhow, every time I do a load of wash (with the exception of whites), clothing articles become horribly "littered" with mini lint balls. Yes, I have a lint roller but it's gotten to the point where I'm having to use it to "clean" every article of clothing post-washing. I've scrubbed the inside of the washing machine (what I can access) and also always turn all articles of clothing inside out but they just get swarmed with the lint buildup. I also "cleaned" my cycle as the manual had prescribed, running it empty with a mix of detergent and ammonia.
The problems still persist so if anyone else has any other tips to offer I am all ears!
Does the dryer help at all with removing the lint?
This sounds incredibly simplistic, but have you googled your washing machine brand name and model number and "lint"? I've discovered that with almost any quirky behavior by an applicance or some other house-related item, other people have had the same problem and usually there is at least one decent resolution floating around out there.
Also, I just did a very quick search and found several websites that tell you how to clean the washing machine lint trap.
