I've been a couple of times for conferences but only the last time did I actually stay in a hotel. We stayed at the hotel Astoria which is very centrally located. If money is no object I would recommend the hotel Gellert. It's baths are amazing. But you can also visit them when you're not a guest.

We stayed there for a weekend this January and it was wonderful. Live music in the lobby at the weekend, lovely spa, etc.
