Holy price increases.
I understand that the price of cotton has gone up, and thus, so has the price of fabric, but REALLY?! $13 a yard? I didn't even pay that much for the organic stuff I ordered last week.
No likey. Granted, the $13/yard was for an Alexander Henry print, but even their crappy quality inhouse brand stuff was $10 a yard. Ouch.
I know. I only buy fabrics there when they're at least 40-50% discounted AND I have a 20%+ total purchase coupon, it's the only way it really comes out priced well for the hassle of having to wait in their ridiculously long lines. I honestly don't think I've ever seen designer prints there- I guess I don't spend much time in the quilting fabric department. I can pretty much always do better online for quilting fabric, and their quality so shoddy.

Yep, for $13/yd, I'm buying some Fabric Finders fabric! I can honestly say, I have become so frustrated by Joanns lately (and Hancock AND HL), that I pretty much buy online or at my LFS.

I needed 6 yards of fabric for a project so I have been searching everywhere and finally settled on Hl with a 40% off coupon. It bought the fabric to 3.60/yard.
Hancock's fabric selection is utter shit. Their quilting cotton is ridiculously priced and their apparel fabric is mostly bad bridesmaid dress type shit with a smattering of odd ugly.
I haven't noticed a price increase at Joann's though. Everything looks the same.
