I had a bit of a panic attack the other day when I realized that it wouldn't be long before LA is too old for rompers (and bishop dresses, ruffle butts, oh the list goes on and on)--so be prepared to see several more "babyish" clothes coming off my machine this summer!
I made this romper for her today--and I think it turned out pretty cute More photos and details in my blog if you care to read my ramblings.
And I wouldn't panic just yet. If I could sew one, pinky would wear the shit out of a bishop. She likes all the dresses in Sew Beautiful, including the frou frou ones I keep expecting her to hate. Also, she'd love that romper.
She is so flipping cute! Her piggies are the best- those giant bows!!! I am sending Gwen to you for a week this summer, and expect a completely pigtail and hair accessory trained little girl back- I don't know how you convinced LA that they were awesome, and don't really care- just do it for us. :-p

Will do cmeon! We'll girly-fy that hair of hers
We went through a really bad period where bows would be ripped out within minutes. Drove.me.crazy! But I stuck to my guns and I think she finally just relented. Honestly though, she has so much hair that she prefers it up and out of her face. One day I'll have to get her on video when she is "swooshing" her hair--it is hilarious!
One tip--I find that using plastic hairbands works better for us than barrettes or clips. My favorite ones are from Walmart. It's the Faded Glory brand and they come in a plastic case that looks like a pill organizer. They are one-time use bands, but they stay in better than the other kinds.

Oh, that's one thing we haven't tried! Thanks!
Gwen is SUCH a girlie girl, it is hilarious- but, she just won't leave cute hair cute. Her pigtails are adorbs- but, don't last 10 minutes, and then her hair has that crazy "used to be in pigtails" look. Clips are only fun if we're playing My Little Pony and she will put them ALL in her hair (and then rip them all out when it's time to clean up). Stretchy hairbands slip off her head- I have the same problem with them, so I get it. Ponytails last but they get messy so fast and they're kind of boring. And her hair is pretty long now, but, not all "one length" enough for braids.
