I am I the only one that doesn't like my Target nursing tanks?
I see them mentioned quite often on here but I hate mine. I even altered the straps because they were too long. For me the shelf bra fit is poor & the stupid clips come undone every time I try to adjust the shirt. The belly area is too big/baggy too.
They gave me uniboob and were generally unflattering. They worked ok and were not uncomfortable. I much preferred my Bravada tanks. For something you'll get a lot of use out of, I think the splurge is worth it.
Hate the Target ones, but love the "Made by Bravado" kind that Target sells. Not as sturdy as the $50 ones you can buy, but for $25, I think they are a bargain.

I agree completely, but I answered "meh." For $10 (I bought them on a super sale last summer) they're fine. For normal price ($20?) they're crappy. I can't sleep in them at all, but I wear them around the house under other shirts and they get the job done.
My answer is also "meh." The belly area is too loose in most of mine, but they were nice to have at that price for the very early days, when I had to change my shirt 10x a day.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I answered "meh" because I like them better than the ones from Motherhood, but I still don't really like them very much. The belly is SOOOO baggy. I sleep in them, but that's it.
Here's a link to the Basics by Bravado website....it has a store locator. I can't find a link at Target, but my local Target carries them: www.basicsbybravado.com/store-locator

Oooooh, these don't have the V neck & ruching. The store locator says my Target has them. I am going to look next time I'm there
I don't really like my Bravado tanks. They are more supportive but seem super low cut. The Target ones are less supportive but I like the coverage more. I just wear them with a light nursing bra.
I found them really tight around the chest which made them hard to get on and off (and I had the largest size XXL). They fit great in the stomach, but the shelf was just so tight

So if everyone is "meh" or "hate" on Target tanks, what do you prefer to wear? I bought one of each type they had in stock (a Gilligan one that was $20 and some other brand for $25) to take to the hospital, but if they're gonna suck, I'll return them for something else. I'm only a C cup (originally B), so I am normally comfortable wearing tanks with built-in bras and I hate hate underwire. There is a nursing store near me where I could go get tanks/bras if they're a specialty store thing, but I need recommendations!
Honestly, I was checking out Walmart's website today and many of their tanks/bras have great reviews and are very inexpensive. I want to get something really simple for the hospital and first few days home. I figure once I'm home I'll head out to the local maternity store to get sized for a few tanks and a bra or two to start.

LOVE the Gillian and O'Malley (sp?) ones. I found several on clearance for $8.99 and they were perfection. Even when full of milk, I have average sized boobs and they don't require additional support. They were comfortable to sleep in and the shelf was nice to keep my cloth nursing pads in place.
I never felt fuglier in any piece of clothing ever. I know postpartum nursing stuff isn't supposed to make you hot but man they made me look TERRIBLE.
My neighbor, on the other hand, always looks fabulous in hers. She's not all boobs like I am when she is PG or BFing, though. Might have something to do with it.
As far as functionality, they did the job but seriously. Fug.
I would personally not waste money on cheap nursing bras because a good nursing bra is SO important--you will want to get fitted for one ASAP and will probably not get much use out of cheapies. Does your hospital have a maternity shop? I actually got fitted for a nursing bra on my last day in the hospital; they were wonderful about sizing me and helping me figure out how much I'd grow when my milk came in (I grew SO much in pregnancy I did not get much bigger afterward). If you are (understandably) worried about breast growth when your milk comes in I would just buy 2 or 3 nursing tanks and use them until you are fitted for bras.
