This is terrible. Growing up riding horses I always suggested everyone know the evac plan and where the extinguishers are, but usually this stuff happens so fast that its impossible. My friends parents lost a 100+ year old barn in the fall. Luckily the animals we already turned out to pasture for the day so they all survived. The only thing they could do was get the tractor out of danger and watch. She had pictures and it was horrifying.
I was wondering if she would get new cows but sounds like she was really attached to them so it might be even harder
Yeah it's super hard for her. She's also 80 years old. She loves cows but there's no way to start over from the ground up at her age. She actually sold out and bought some of them back she missed them so much. This might be the end of her to sadly enough. There's no way her son can take over. He has a moderate mental impairment, so he can work and function but not alone. And the Dad in the story is like 80 too and can't even walk. I'm amazed he got out the barn actually.
I can't even imagine. If that was H and I..we'd both be in the same sad state. H esp. He breathes cows. A lot like the lady in the story actually.
I didn't see the video, I was at work. Do you think she might like to visit with other people's cows, even if she can't have her own?
Yeah..she'll be around. She's a neighborhood staple..lol. She'd be one to take up milking other people's cows for a break..but she's 80 years old..nobody wants that kind of liability. They were also old schoolin' it but had great cows nonetheless so any overly modern tech would be out of her ability.
