House Build (chimney and pine posts installed)

My husband and his dad are building our home together. It's been a great experience. We're hoping to finish up in the next several weeks.

My husband finished the chimney and a bunch of guys came up last week to help put in the posts. I'm really glad we decided to move the chimney to the center of the house. It was supposed to be on the exterior wall.



The red to the right is the backsplash for the kitchen. Things are coming together! Looking forward to moving in soon!

Well the timing thing is an interesting question. It took us about 2 years to get through red tape in our county to get approval for land division and the building permit. We broke ground this past summer and went full speed ahead in the fall. We hope to be finished in the next month or so.

It looks amazing! I think it is so cool that they are building it themselves.
