No, not because the floors are not done (they are), but because this is the biggest pain the ass ever.
The floors look gorgeous. And I am less than half way done washing the inch thick dust off everything from said refinishing (he mentioned having a friend who has a cleaning business come in and clean after he was done but for real, I'm not waiting on that). H and FIL moved the washer and dryer over tonight, but lost the washers for the washer (ha) so it's not hooked up. And I've used most of my rags to wipe stuff down and they're all going to be trashed by the time I can wash them.
I don't have everything packed and I'm not going to be here tomorrow to pack so I am freaking out about being able to find stuff when I get back.
I'll send my H down there for ya (he owns a moving company). When we moved, it was the best thing ever. He packed everything-the man is a packing ninja. I just put my feet up and waited to start unpacking everything in the new house. Hang in there it will be so worth it!! And happy birthday to my birthday twin!
Thank you! I've totally been milking my birthday for what it's worth (with the H). Today is my birthday eve, tomorrow is my birthday. And since my birthday falls on a Sunday this year, Monday is the observed, bank holiday date for my birthday. That's 3 days, haha.

OMG that is the worst part. H started taking stuff over like.. the minute we closed and had possession. So shit is all mixed up in the garage. I nearly lost my mind when I saw it the next week. The good news is I did label everything pretty clearly so I can tell him to bring it in the house and to the correct room. I've done ALL the packing and he's done all the lifting and will be moving (hopefully) everything big tomorrow, then I just have to unpack it all.
And happy birthday jhawks! I like your idea, I think I shall do that with my birthday haha.
When we move I put labels on each box. Each room is assigned a letter. Each box is assigned a number. so box 1A, 2A, 3A etc go in living room. Boxes 1 B, 2B, 3B go to the kitchen.
I make a spreadsheet to track all of this. I have a column for the letter, a column for the box #, and column with a BRIEF description of box contents.
I set up a couple boxes that have tools that I will immediately need - first aid/cleaning/light bulbs/hammer/screw driver, telephone/answering machine. Another box with quick kitchen stuff - some paper plates, napkins, salt/pepper, crackers, power bars, glasses, drinks. Those boxes go in the car with me. Anything else I know we have to have quick access to - if I had a small child then extra diapers, bottles, food for them.
Might be too late for you to do this. We went to one of our closings with both cars packed with stuff we wanted immediately - mainly cleaning and painting supplies.

Yeah, I labeled everything but it is all jumbled. I might be just quitting and letting him finish everything since we have started moving furniture and none of the bedrooms have been dusted. I need to use my own sock full of pennies.
