Ambulance, 3 hours in ER and then 4 hours surgery

Happy Memorial Day!

My poor MIL took a fall yesterday and broke her femur right in half. It was a spiral fracture, with hunks of bone broken off, so they had her in surgery as soon as they were able to get the surgeon there.

What a mess. Now we're finding out all this other info about her health and it looks like we might be looking at more than just the surface (i.e. why she fell, how bad her osteoporosis is, she has something indicating bloackage in her arteries and oh yeah, is smoking 1/2 pack a day with COPD despite telling us she quit months ago).

Think good thoughts, because this is going to be a rough couple of months for us all, I think.

OMG, your poor MIL. That sounds excruciating. I'd say "I hope she feels better soon," but it sounds like she's in for a long, long recovery. :-(

OMG, that sounds really awful. Hope she heals well. You've had concerns about her health in the recent past, right, and about getting her to see a doctor? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else - but if it's you I'm remembering, maybe this will at least (sorry) be good in that she will be in a doctor's care. Hang in there!
