Driving from Tampa to Savannah

I have an idea of the best routes to take to get from Tampa to Savannah, but can anyone chime in with their experience? I'm wondering whether it's best to take 301 all the way to 95N or if we should do 301 to I-10 to I-295 to I-95N. Both ways seem to take about the same amount of time.

We always do 75 to 10 to 95. We took 301 once and it was ridiculous.

Take 75. 301 can take a lot longer, if you get stopped at lights.

If you have never driven that route, just be careful driving through Waldo and Starke, they are speed trap towns. If you go so much as 1MPH over the limit, you WILL get a ticket. They raise and drop the speed limits quickly.

When you say to take 75, you do have to go on 301 for at least a little bit, right? Or are you saying that you take 75 and it goes straight into 10 at some point?

I thought going on 301 for at least a little while was required, but maybe I am wrong. Let me know

No, you don't have to take 301. 75 goes right to 10. Chelsea's right - the small towns are speed traps and full of lights!

Re: the small towns-- I feel like a I should be an honorary resident of them, with all the driving I've done between here and Jax lately. (my hometown) I always wonder what it would be like to live in them, they are so remote!

One more thing- do you remember how long the drive was between here and SAV when you took 75 to 10 to 95?

It was about 5.5 or 6 hours last time, but we had a 6 month old when we did it and I'm pretty sure we stopped at least twice. DH also has a tendency towards speeding. LOL

Aw, haha. I've never been there but I've heard of it. Do you know of Durango Steakhouse? That's one of my customers. I only have 2 located in Titusville, them and then a Chinese place.

Ha. "Durangos" as it's called. Yep, that used to be a popular after-church lunch spot. It's off of Cheney Hwy.

We got a Target 2 years ago. Before then, you had to drive to Orlando, or Viera, or Merritt Island to get to one Target.
