I'm the same way which is why I tend not to lend things out. My SIL returned my Harry Potter books to me at Easter and I had forgotten that I had even lent them to her.

I let my friends and family borrow stuff all the time. tools, clothes, books, movies, etc... I think we usually get everything back and if we don't I obviously don't remember/care.
I let people borrow things all the time and if I don't write it down I don't usually remember. I had friend let me know she had some of my books still and was reading them. It has been a year since I lent them to her and had no clue that the had them.

I only lend things I'm completely ok with forgetting about and potentially never getting back. This is also why I rarely borrow things and try to avoid having people lend me things. I always forget to give them their shit back
Not really. I'm a little too much of a control freak to do it. And I *hate* having to ask for things back. I also don't borrow stuff because I stress over making sure I remember to give things back. If I do lend something, it is because I don't care if it never comes back (I tend to think of that more as a gift).
Sometimes I feel bad about it, but I figure it is better to know myself and my own boundaries then to pretend it doesn't bother me when I lend someone something and it never comes back.
It really depends on the person and the item in question. A paperback I picked up at a used book store I'll lend to pretty much anybody, but a $200 tool I'd be a lot more selective about.
I only lend things out that I'm okay with not getting back, or getting back a long while after I loan them out. Strangely enough, I've had at least two people ask to borrow my iPad. I said no.
Haha, no. My though process is the same with money. It's a "gift" until I get it back. And if I don't, I'm not too heart-broken. I don't loan things out if they're things I want to keep.
Yes, generally. Quite often I'll lend clothes out to friends who spent the night but forgot to pack pjs or some such thing. I lend dishes when I send people home from my house with leftovers. I swap movies with friends. Some people indont trust with my stuff though so they get food in yogurt containers

I do. I can only think of 2 things that haven't been returned, both books so not really a big deal - but my name is in them both, should people get around to cleaning out their houses.
