We have no plans for the next three days and I have ambitious goals of getting some major purging done, but really, I just want to do something different today! I'm considering heading to Ikea for some organization inspiration.
H decided to pick up a shift at the hospital today. Holiday pay, woo woo! I am watching the Rose Parade right now. Later this afternoon I will be watching football and cleaning the house. We have a houseguest tonight.
work (and not be as productive as I could because support departments/companies have it off). If I wasn't working, it would just be a random day off in the middle of the week.
Today I've spent so far trying not to throw up. DH is currently making pancakes, eggs, and sausage. I'm hoping to do a little cleaning this afternoon but honestly I'm really hung over from last night and I anticipate laying on the couch watching TV most of the day. DH is probably going ice fishing with a couple of friends.
Later hopefully we'll have steak and twice baked potatoes for dinner. So basically, low key day.

You ladies are a wild bunch. I watched movies and ate my weight in Chinese food last night, but no real drinking. Tomorrow I start my spending and calorie restrictions, so I figure today is my last day to do whatever I want. Sounds like my Ikea trip is being vetoed by the toddler though, and since it is an hour and a half away, I don't want to risk a meltdown if he is already saying he doesn't want to go.
We just ate a late breakfast. I have a lot to do today to prepare for going back to school tomorrow-- need to read the last few assignments, review the dx tests I am supposed to be familiar with, fill out my planner, print lecture notes, and make some meals for the freezer.
Looking forward to watching our final episode of Homeland tonight. We did it! Haha
I had planned on cleaning out some closets, making a huge pile for goodwill, and general organizing. However, H isn't done with the master bedroom closet organizer, which puts all of that on hold.
So instead I decided to put the financial house in order and do some serious investment research. I can do that from the couch and be productive. And I'm also doing laundry.
Spent the morning on the couch watching Love Actually. Might go for a run later and do a little cleaning. Have a turkey breast in the crockpot for dinner tonight.
Usually we go to MIL's for Greek New Year's bread and a big brunch. We watch the Mummers parade and loaf around all day.
This year we're down the shore, so we had a big breakfast and NY bread here, and we're watching the Mummers. Our friends are leaving soon, and we'll be lazy all day. I see a nap in my future.
We don't really have a tradition other than having a laid back day, which usually involves not leaving the house. But I didn't buy the ingredients traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner, so we might have to leave the house if we want to continue that tradition. Or preferably find an open restaurant that serves it.
Ordinarily I would make black eyed peas but I gave up this year as I am the only one who eats them.
We took down the Xmas decorations this morning and watched the Rose Parade, which DD was really into. I am also trying to get the house in some semblance of order after the holidays.
Do you have it on DVD? does one of the streaming services have it? We want to watch this, but on demand only has this season. :-( I don't this its included with Amazon prime, and we dropped Netflix. Please tell me there is somewhere that I can watching it free.
I had Christmas Eve and Christmas off, but that's it, so I'm not gearing up for a big return to work. That said, DH has been on vacation for over a week, so today may include some mourning on his part.
We need to clean up a little, wrap some gifts for my family gift exchange (not for another week+), and write some thank-you notes. I would also like to go see a movie and spend a little time reading. Would love to milk the whole holiday thing for dinner out, too, but that's still up in the air.
I'd like to establish some traditions, but our life is a little wild right now with job stuff and a possible move. Here's hoping 2013 brings calmer seas!
We went out for breakfast and ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things that I forgot to put on the list. I took a nice long bath am watching season 2 of Homeland.
I have a pork shoulder roasting in the oven with some homemade baked beans. I think I'll also make some soup for dinner tomorrow night.
I should go straighten up our bedroom and guest room and dust.
So it's really just like your typical lazy Sunday in my house.
