What's everyone up to lately?

This board is sort of glacial, so I thought I'd post to see what everyone is up to. So, what's going on in your life? Adoption timeline, parenting stuff, personal, whatever!

We have set a date to submit our application to our agency - January 2nd! I'm getting pretty excited to get the ball rolling. Although now that I think about it, what do we do if we aren't accepted?? I guess we'd just have to find another agency, but that's sort of not sounding awesome, lol.

We are also in the middle of renovating our living room and hallway floors - we ripped up the carpet/pad, scraped all the adhesive, paint, spackle, etc. off the slab, and are mostly through with using an acid stain on the concrete. We have about 30 s.f. that didn't get covered with the first bottle of stain, so now we're at a stand-still waiting on the second bottle to come from the supplier. Hopefully it'll arrive today! Once we're done staining we need to put down a clear coat. We're also repainting the walls (new colors) and baseboards (same color, need to be repainted before we reattach them!). It's a ton of work, but I can't wait to see the finished product!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm also in the middle of the fall semester - full-time grad student (9 hours), and I hate all of my classes and coursework this semester. Or at least I don't enjoy it very much. I'm ready for the spring semester already (I graduate in May!).

On vacation visiting my family. We are doing a LOT of relaxing!

We just completed our LAST homestudy meeting two weeks ago & our sw is writing her assessment. She said it would be finished within 30 days of our last meeting.

Then it's onto ALL of the dossier paperwork! Hopefully our dossier will be in country by February or March, so we can begin the long wait!

We're also working on deciding bigger items for our house renovation, which will begin after dossier is in country!
