Thanks for posting that! So far everyone is supportive of our plans to adopt, etc., but I don't know what it will be like once we have a baby and extended birth family to deal with.

Interesting read. I'm fortunate in that H and I will have to discuss very little. I'm adopted and I have a significant number of cousins who are also adopted. On H's side of the family, 3 out of his 5 siblings would like to adopt.

Interesting read. My husband's family is a little bit more closed off to hearing about things, too, but they are in no way comparable to this woman's family.

Our daughter has a new brother (a full sibling) who was adopted by a family that lives just 10 minutes away from us. We have gotten together with this new family a few times. It's so neat to see the similarities between our children. I've told my mom about the new baby, but my husband's parents don't know yet. I guess we're a little bit afraid of the questions and how they will react. Maybe they would surprise us. Who knows.
