Last month I heard from another mom her motor quit after 15 months. Now I'm a little paranoid. (I'm planning to use this pump for future children as well)
This week I noticed mine has had decrease in suction. I'm going to get it tested just to make sure it's not the motor. So far it hasn't affected my pumping output, but I've been adjusting the pressure & doing compressions.
Anyone else have suction problems?
Also have you ever replaced the membranes? (unless there's damage do you need to?...they are so much thicker than PISA membranes)
Overall I love my Freestyle. I've been using it 5 days a week for the last 5 months.
i don't use this pump, but if you have a decrease in suction, check out the membranes. i'm not sure how yours works..but i looked at the mechanics of mine, and if the membranes are worn, it won't suck as well.
where do you get your motor tested? if that's $$, i would prob replace membranes first.

Had my pump tested yesterday. The pressure is within the range, it had to be on level 9 to get to the high end but it passed.
The LC suggested trying smaller shields to see if that made a difference. She also said to call Medela.
I'm also wondering if perhaps my hands free bra is contributing to the issue. It's not as tight as it used to be, I'm going to try to alter it this weekend.
