we're going on a family vacation in january. my IL's will be there, so occasionally h and i will be able to slip away from my will-be-11.5-month-old.
we wouldn't ever leave for more than 3 hours at a time...tops (we're going on a cruise)..so we'll always be nearby.
would your bring a pump? or should i just let MIL feed her some sort of solids if she gets hungry during this time? how much solids / how often is/should she be nursing at this time?

Do you have a manual pump? If you do I would take it. It won't take up much space & isn't heavy. (I'm assuming you're also flying & have a luggage weight limit)
Does she take any solids now? Every child is different, at 10 months M will eat a few slices of fruit (BLW) but it doesn't replace his milk feedings.
no, i have a double electric, heavy bulky thing. i *think* pumps are excluded in weight/bag limits, since it's a medical device.
she's taking solids 1-2x's a day. when she's distracted (if we're out at the grocery store, grandmas house...something), her solids are filling her up enough that she doesn't have as much milk..but most days, when we're at home, they are definitely just for fun.
i use the electric philips avent pump right now...there's a $10 coupon on amazon right now, which brings it down to 20ish bucks. would having a single manual be worth it? i've struggled in the past in trying to find an outlet, etc....this might be more convenient for quick fixes (like going to a show/musical).

I don't think you'll regret having a manual, especially if you plan to have more kids. I almost always turn to my manual (Medela Harmony) when I need to pump at home. I was using it a few times a week for the first 6 months & still use it occasionally now.
If you like your electric Avent I would go with the manual Avent. I assume your pump parts can be switched between the two.
