I currently give DD frozen milk on Mondays only, and do fresh milk the rest of the week. I have frozen milk from January in the chest freezer, but we only just got this chest freezer so it was in our regular freezer first (not sure how the expiration dating works in that situation?).
I am trying to decide if I should give more frozen milk during the week and freeze the fresh milk.... Which is better for her - fresh milk, or frozen milk from the wintertime (cold/flu season)?
For those with frozen milk, do you calculate how much you need to use before it expires?
I would give the froze everyday so it does not go to waste. I used frozen bm that was in the deep freezer for 6 months and it was fine but I personally did not want to waste any so I used when it got to the six month mark.

I freeze everything I pump and rotate it out First In, First Out. He nurses when we're together. I don't have a big enough freezer supply to have to worry about expiring and with my current rotation, I don't think that'll be an issue.
If you're unsure about the freezer exp. date, I'd play it conservative and go with the regular freezer exp. date timeline.
I know cold/flu bugs change and your current antibodies are specific for that cold, so I'm not sure if saving milk from a previous cold would help for a future cold. (or cold season).
Although I have read about saving colostrum from the beginning for baby's first cold. But we didn't do that.
