I agree on both counts! I've stopped trying to clean on the weekends. It's just easier during the week when I have my routine in place. Besides, I'd rather DO SOMETHING!
Agreed. I always want to do something, but then everyone expects me to come up with a fabulous suggestion.
This. DH has been gone a lot on weekends this month. I get tired taking the kids out and about by myself all week and all weekend. Just coming up with something to do, even something at home takes some time. Today, we went ice skating, out to lunch, to get DD's birthday supplies, painted 7 birdhouses pink, and played outside for 3 hours. I am tired, but they are not. During the week, when I just have DS and I have friends with DH and WM who are not around, it is much easier to think of things to do.
We're getting ready to start a major addition/renovation on our house and DH is acting as general contractor, plumber, and electrician. So for *months* he's been using his free time to do prep work and convert our old master bath to a laundry room (the current laundry room will become part of the kitchen and the extension includes a new master bath). Basically I "single parent" all weekend while he's working, and I would love to go, go, go...except all my girls want to do is stay home and hope Daddy comes out to play!
No pajama day, though. They'd love it, but I'm crazy enough being stuck here. No way could I stand staring at the two of them in their PJs all day!
I completely agree! I want to bang my head against a wall every time my husband just wants to 'relax' all day. It just means another day stuck inside doing chores, but this time I have to work around a big lump.

Oh man, totally agree! The weekend comes, and I'm all: let's do things, let's go to the farmer's market and the zoo, let's just please GO SOMEWHERE. H is all: can we stay home and chill out?
I like weekends DH is incapable of sleeping in so I get to. And after a week of running around I'm pretty okay to relax at home. We go out and about sometimes but not every weekend.

I like weekends. DS and I get out a good bit during the week, but it gets lonely just the two of us (he's a toddler) so its nice to do things as a family. Also, DH will take DS out alone giving me time to myself.
What I really hate are Mondays when the house is a disaster, fridge is empty, and there's five whole days ahead of me to fill.

I agree with you on Mondays. DH usually works from home so he's here during the week too but for some reason the house becomes a disaster over Saturday and Sunday.
