I was reading the post below about shopping and the grocery and going without kids. Am I the only one who actually likes having the kids with me?
I have always hated shopping by myself. I like taking the kid(s). It is easier with just one, but even with both, we have a good time. DS and I talk about the different things in the store, what he wants to eat, he is formula dependent, so talking about his possibly eating things is part of trying to get him to try food. When DD is there too, she tries to get me to buy things I would never buy, but also, tells me what she likes and doesn't like. She has good ideas about what we can cook, ect.
Even other stores, it is fun. We went to Micheal's on Saturday and had a great time picking out a craft for DD's birthday. The only thing I don't really like to shop with the kids for is clothes for me, since they have little patience for that and want to crawl under the clothes racks, but it is manageable.

I don't mind it :-)
I enjoy having my little buddy with me. She is starting to actually give me an opinion and help me pick stuff out. She picked out new sunglasses for me last week!
I don't mind it with one, but with 2 it can be exhausting. And sometimes I need to just run in and grab a couple things rather than make an adventure of it.

I liked shopping with DD when she was younger, but lately she's been a PITA. She doesn't want to sit in a stroller or cart anymore, but she doesn't want to stay with me either. She's usually fine at the farmer's market, but there is something about the big box stores like Meijer, Target, etc. that makes her go crazy. She tends to mirror other kids too. She could be acting good, but the moment she sees another kid throw a tantrum or hide in the clothes she starts.

Overall, I don't mind it. I can see why some moms don't enjoy it, especially moms of 2+. I'm also not going to complain when H's paydays (my shopping days) fall on MDO days.
I like shopping with DS. He really enjoys going to the store, so he is pretty good when we are there. I still take snacks just in case he starts to have a meltdown, though.
No, I'm with you. I generally like shopping with both of them. It's a little more work, but I'd also hate to wait to do all of my errands & shopping until DH was home. Or worse, waste money on a sitter for it. DD1 loves running errands, always has. She is quite sad now that we haven't been to Ikea in over a month. She loves Target and Sams Club especially. DD2 is a bit easier now that she can sit in the cart and I don't have to wear her the whole time. We usually have a limit of 2 stops, barring a hectic day.
I don't have a problem going with my kids when necessary. And I usually don't hate it while I'm in there.
It's the whole planning the menu, trying to decide what to buy, making sure you have everything you need, and then getting back home and realizing you forgot something important YET AFUCKINGGAIN and need to go back.
I'll my kids grocery shopping but I won't take them if I have to really get shit done in a hurry. I'm pretty lucky in that my kiddos are well behaved and don't give me a lot of hassle when we're out, but I just crave the alone time and grocery shopping is a good excuse for that.
Now in general I hate grocery shopping because I pretty much hate all the other fuckers around there mucking up the aisles and being bad cart drivers and the like. God help me if I have to get something a Whole Foods. That's a whole 'nother world full of assholey shoppers.

We have a local grocery store that has a cart with the attached car thing and DD loves riding in that. Plus their aisles are huge and the store is usually dead when we go, so it's not too much of a pain to push around. I spend way too much time grocery shopping with reading labels and stuff.

YES! I always farking forget something. And plus he's at that age of awesomeness and lately he's just been really hard to take places.
But, strangely, he does really awesome at the mall.

It doesn't bother me. I put Li in the shopping cart for the first time at Whole Foods last week and she loved it. She always gets a ton of attention, so when we are at the mall, I can easily try things on because the sales people are falling all over themselves to play with her. She's very well behaved when we are out and she loves the attention.
