Toddler tantrums

I laugh when she pouts and throws tantrums. Yesterday she forgot she was sitting in the corner pouting and started talking to herself and laughing.

I can handle these tantrums. I hope it doesn't get any worse.

Distraction is a good thing.

My problem is that I have a hard time controlling my laughter when my three year old does something she shouldn't. I don't want her to think I am approving her actions.

I always do that. I just start laughing and he just starts laughing too. Forgets what he was upset about.

Sometimes it backfires and he gets more upset with me laughing, lol. Depends how tired he is.

Lol, enjoy it now. :-) I never laughed at DS's tantrums, but boy do I laugh at DD's in comparison to his.

Tantrums (while still rare in our house) have taken an unusual turn lately.

When DS starts acting up and the tantrum is building, he'll say at some point "I need time out"

Um, ok, if you insist. But, maybe it's because he knows that's his calm down spot and a chance for resolution to the conflict, non?

At least I like to fantasize that my kid is that emotionally mature

William has a lot of tantrums - we use a cot for his timeout now - in the norty corner he just likes it, but now he doesn't We all laugh at his tantrums - he is so silly.
