My daughter starts showing signs she wants a nap around noon - even so much as trying to climb into her crib if she thinks I'm not taking the hint.
Her naps usually last about 3 hours. But sometimes even up to 4 hours. I have tried to wake her before (after about 2 hours) and it makes her very cranky for the rest of the day! So I usually just let her wake up on her terms.
I enjoy the break, but isn't 3 hours too much?? She is 20 months old now, so just shy of 2. She went down for her nap today at 12:15 and is still asleep at 4pm. I don't remember my boys sleeping for this long at almost 2, but it's been a few years now so I may just not remember. Ah, she is finally stirring. So we're not quite at the 4 hour mark, but just a few minutes shy.
Some kids just need more sleep than others. My son naps 1-1.5 hours but a friend's child has long 3 hour naps. Nothing to be worried about in my opinion.
Mine sleeps at least 2 hours, and has been known to go 3+ hours, esp after a busy day. If you've started spending more time outside or doing more stuff, that may account for it. I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy your quiet time!

DD used to take 3 hour naps when she was that age. She went down to 1-2 hours after she turned 2 and dropped them when she got closer to 3. Every once in a while she will still take a long nap.
DS typically took naps that long. Three hours was an average for him from about 18 months until he was almost 4. There were times when he'd nap until 5pm and head for bed with no problems at 8-8:30pm.
Sometimes he'd wake after an especially long nap somewhat disoriented and cranky but that passed after about 30 minutes.

DD naps 3 hours most days, sometimes close to 4 (she turned 2 a month ago). It has been like this since she went to one nap at 9 months old and I'm not complaining! She sleeps fine at night as well so I don't mess with it.
My son was still napping 3-4 hours at a time at 20 months. Even now at 3.5 years old, he naps for 2-2.5 hours every day and anything less than that would be awful for him. He absolutely needs a lot of sleep (and I'm totally okay with that!). I suspect my son will be the kid coming home from kindergarten and taking a nap!
Some days DS naps for 3 hours. I figure he needs it. Some kids just need more sleep than others. As long as it's not affecting night time sleep I wouldn't worry.
I think naps are totally indicative of your child. My son takes naps about every 2 or 3 hours when at home with me (he has daycare some days) and those naps are 2 or 3 hours in length EACH. So thats more time sleep then awake!!! Which is normal for us and then he still goes down to bed at night at 8 or 830 and sleeps through the night. Kids normally get a to a point where they themselves "drop nap" if it doesn't bother you and your child still goes down fine at night I would personally go with it.

yea as long as he's going down fine at night and STTN then I wouldn't worry I wake my dd after 2 hours, because any more than that then she won't sleep well at night
