How do you handle a child who is a pouter? We are babysitting a pouter next weekend and I don't know what to do when a kid pouts. When this child doesn't like something or doesn't get her way, she pouts and leaves the room and isolates herself from the group. Do you just let the kid do that or do you some how address it?
This is my husband's friends kids and I don't know the wife super well so I don't want to start off on the wrong foot by saying, "hey, what do I kid when your kid pouts because she doesn't get her way?"
you don't let a child you are watching leave the room.... you tell her that when she's ready to talk to you without pouting/whining, etc - that you will talk to her.... and until then, pouting/whining/crying gets her nothing.
