Baby girl name/nickname

We are team green and have two girl names that we like. Our favorite is Madeleine, but we really dislike the nickname Maddie. We would want her to be called Madeleine. With the popularity of that nickname, do you think we could avoid it? Or should we scratch that name and go with our second choice if it is a girl? Thoughts?

My Aunt is Madeleine (well technically she's Madelaine) and has never been called Maddie. However, you might want to be prepared that little Madeleine might like the name Maddie and want to call herself that.
