I don't really know the answer to this. Besides some 1800s books, I have a badger that my grandpa stuffed in the 1930s (or late 1920s) as part of a 4H project, and I would guess that is the oldest non-book item. I also have two milk bottles from a Wichita bottling plant. I found them under the porch of our old house (built in 1920), but I don't really have a way to date them. I also have a small wooden sign advertising Tillamook Cheese, obviously old, but no idea when it was made.
I don't have the space or money to collect antiques, but I do have a fondness for old crap.
I have no idea. I'm not sentimental or into antiques AT ALL so I hate keeping around old things. DW on the other hand feels guilty for not taking "hand me downs" from family and holds onto the most rediculous things so there is definitely some old stuff in our basement.
Probably some old coins (although those are in a safe deposit box). Most of our really old and valuable stuff isn't kept at home. Jewelry, watches, etc. Hmm...I'll have to think.
My house. It was built in 1860. I unearthed 2 horseshoes in the basement though so possibly those? I'm not sure if they were for luck and were accidentally buried or if the land prior was a stable or something. Either way, it's all old. Really, really old. Good news, it'll never, ever fall down we even have knob and tube wiring! It was just pointed out to me a few weeks ago. We're having work done in the basement and they won't do it until we have an electrician report it's no longer active. Imagine?! I keep forgetting to schedule it. Thanks for the reminder!
But like, CT's wife, she can't say no to hand me down furniture, so we have her grandmother's kitchen table/dining room table/bedroom set/sewing cabinets...none of which are my taste or we have a need for.
Our house, too. Not quite as old as quinny's- built in 1890. I do take a lot of comfort that it has withstood quite a few floods, storms, and angry teenagers.
I do like a few sentimental hand me downs-- a hat pin vase from my great gteat grandma, some old photos, some jewelry. I like to mix the old and new to keep it fresh and alive
I have some vintage dresses and jewelry - all from between approx 1940 and 1965. I also have a china cabinet and matching side table that belonged to my grandmother. And I have a tiny jewelry box that was given to me as a gift, which now that I think about it, may be the oldest.
OH, wait! My wedding ring! We traded in my wedding rings this year for an antique - it is from the 1930s. So it's either the ring or the jewelry box.
Probably the house itself also, around 1900. Of our possessions... I have a coin and handkerchief that were used in my grandma's wedding (and several others) so those must be fairly old. I can't think of much other historical stuff we own, and if we do most of it is probably at one of our parents' homes, where we both still have too much stuff.
We also have some type of robe/garment that H has had handed down to him. It's some type of ceremonial piece used in bar mitzvahs. Exact date unknown, but it would be similar in timeframe.
I think the oldest thing we have here right now is a census enumerator badge from the 1900 census. I bought it in a charity auction at work (what can I say, I'm a total geek!).
I also have an antique ring that's an old family heirloom. It might be late 1800s, but I'd guess more likely early 1900s.

I don't collect lots of old things but I do have the cape my grandmother E (who E is named after) wore in her nursing school graduation (1930s?) and the photo from her graduation and a few related pins and trinkets. I want to make a shadow box/framed thing out of these one day.
