Anything exciting?
We went on Friday and Saturday nights and **finally** found some houses worth signing a loan on. None were exactly right, but several were worth keeping on the short list. This is good, since we've been looking since March and haven't seen a thing until now that we really liked.
Also, we bought our tickets for our "vacation" yesterday. We're going back east to visit family for 12 days. (FYI, I do not view this as a vacation, but H does)

I need a weekend from my weekend. We bought a patio set on Saturday afternoon. Which I have wanted for like the entire time we have lived in our house. Our deck doesn't look lonely now! And I had my dad and two sisters out for dinner yesterday so I spent a lot of the day cleaning and cooking. I made potato salad (from my MIL's un-recipe -- she does not measure, she just goes by taste), diabetic mac & cheese (my dad is newly diabetic), corn and H grilled some chicken & brats. My brother cancelled 2 hours before they were supposed to be out, so I'm a little sad about that, but nothing I can do about it.
Kind of sucked. I had to work on Saturday, and baby Wop wasn't feeling well so she was cranky. Plus it was 90 degrees out and our central air hasn't been replaced yet. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend, but it didn't really happen. :-(

I had a giant BBQ on Sunday. It was a hit, the last guest left at 1am. Which is late with a bunch married people with kids. LOL So monday I was pooped. I cleaned a bit and took the kids to the park with H. The beach was packed with hollies so we avoided that. Next weekend we might do a clam bake. When we have to beach back to ourselves.
Friday night DH grilled yummy Sea Bass for me after several bottles of Summer Shandy.
Saturday night we grilled out again and invited MIL to join us. I made yummy Sangrias and DH grilled filets with twice baked potatoes.
Sunday we relaxed and went to the pool for about an hour and a half. It was mostly cloudy so we stupidly failed to use sunscreen so we both ended up with sunburns. DH has whined about his for 2 days straight now. Big baby!
Monday DH had to work a half day so I did 3 loads of laundry and sat on my couch the rest of the day.
Had a fun weekend. Saturday my dad gave me a compound miter saw so I cut me some new baseboards for the never ending bathroom reno. Sunday I patched a drywall hole where we removed an old medicine cabinet. Monday I started painting and we cleaned up before some friends came over. Then we drank a very nice bottle of champagne while the kids ran around like maniacs together and we caught up with our friends.
We had a good weekend. DH & I shot the Triple Crown Match this weekend. Saturday was a team match. Sunday was a long 100 shot individual regional match and Monday was a long range regional match. DH would have won the whole thing (all 3 days combined) but he had rifle trouble. He placed 1st on Saturday and 2nd on Monday. I managed to place 3rd on Sunday despite having some ammo trouble of my own.
Besides that I finished weeding all of the flower beds and worked on hauling and spreading the 4 yards of mulch dumped on our driveway by myself. We also visited my family one night and tried out a new and very cheesy Mexican restaurant in town (one of only three).
Fox - Way to kick ass at your match! Re: Mexican - cheesy like, with lots of aged milk products. Or cheesy like...cheesy?
adhfashion - hollies? Is that like shoobies? i.e. stupid annoying tourists at the beach?
My weekend was pretty good. Saturday went for a motorcycle ride taking the scenic route to our favorite BBQ place, and then went to a cookout at a friend's house. We were there till pretty late. Sunday we organized the construction zone a little better and then got started installing insulation down there. Didn't finish, but we're in no hurry - that one isn't on the critical path at the moment. Monday we went out on the boat, took a quick spin out to the bay and then came back into the mouth of our creek and anchored a bit offshore and jumped in the water. 2.5 blissful hours of just floating, drinking beer, and watching the boats go by. Then I had to go into the office. (but pretend that didn't happen. Lets just stick with the floating)

Yes, it is like shoobies. We say hollies a take on holidays, annoying people on vacation. I love when they all leave.

Thanks. If we can get our ammo and rifle issues figured out we could sweep the State Championships together in July. That's never been done by a married couple before...not that there are many married couples on the range but still.
Here in WI nothing is too milk product cheesy! I was meaning cheesy as in fake cardboard cut out arches in the windows. LOL hilarious but like I said our only other options in town is a Subway and a Culvers (WI's version of fast food) so we tried it anyways. Inside the furniture was the definition of gaudy, there were four massive TVs playing Telemundo soap operas, the chips tasted like cardboard, the mild salsa made our mouth burn, the cash register was broken, and our food tasted bad. But we could stop giggling at how cheesy it was the whole time.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend! A relaxing boat ride sounds really fun right now. You have all the toys don't you? A motorcycle and a boat. Haha "critical path" that is exactly what an engineer would say!

We do! The boat kinda fell in our laps. It was my grandfather's - he can't take it out alone anymore, so it was just sitting in his yard for two years. He sold it to us for peanuts. I needs some love, but it runs and it doesn't look too bad. But now that we have it, we're thinking about getting rid of the motorcycle. There's only so many good weather activities one couple can do, you know? And once I manage to get KU'd the motorcycle is likely to fall by the wayside anyway. Can't ride with a belly, and can't strap a carseat on that sucker. We're enjoying it while it lasts though.
Re: critical path, I almost deleted that after I typed it but coudln't think of a different way to say it that wouldn't take two sentences. So I left it. It's a pretty self explanatory concept, right?
My husband and I decided to head to the beach, spur of the moment (the dog friendly motel we love had a cancellation so we took it). Dave spent 2 glorious days on our boat off shore fishing - I spent two glorious days on the beach with my dog at my side. We needed to get away.
