My husband recorded it last night and I was listening to it. By the end, I was sitting by him watching it. It's definitely a good movie. Looking forward to watching tonight and tomorrow!
I thought the first half-hour was really slow and a bit hard to follow (took me a while to actually realize that Kevin Costner was Hatfield and Bill Paxton was McCoy, lol), but by the end I was really interested in the storylines and the characters.
I made the mistake of looking on the Internet for some more background info to how the feud actually started ... they revealed what happened to some of the minor characters, which I didn't expect to find otherwise I wouldn't have searched, and one detail in particular was a pretty major spoiler

I also thought the beginning was kind of slow and I had a hard time following who was who in the beginning. I really liked it though and by the end I wanted it to keep going. I normally can't stand Kevin Costner but he is really good in this role. I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.

DH and I have been watching it too. He was the one who really wanted to see it, but I've been enjoying it a lot.
After we watched the first episode last night, I (just like PP) went online and looked up the real story of the two families. I probably should have waited until I finished watching the mini-series because I was driving DH crazy tonight with all my "that's not what really happened" and "you know, in real life blah, blah, blah."
I'm watching it now... I can't understand what these people are saying. I can't tell all the dirty men apart. This shit needs subtitles lol
I've always got CC on, so I've been able to understand it all. Typically, I wouldn't have a clue what they're saying half the time. It's totally worth seeing the sub titles at the bottom.

I loved it. I live in Pikeville so its really nice to hear some more in depth stuff from the Hatfields/McCoys feud. All I knew about it before was that it started over a pig. Theres an italian restaurant downtown that is in the McCoy house. The McCoy graves are also nearby!

I've only watched the first part, but I was bored the whole way through. And I shouldn't have been given that H's grandma was a Hatfield. H would occasionally make comments like "oh, yeah, the pig. I remember hearing about that" and even that didn't make it interesting.
Although I did rib him that these were his people when they'd do something lovely like dribble tobaccy spit on their beards. That part was fun.
