I couldn't fucking take it anymore. My last day is Friday. The good news is that I have already had an interview for what could be a dream job. I go back this week for a final interview/decision. Those of you who are into CrossFit would know this company...it's really exciting to think of doing something with a product I care about and use myself (right now I do international sales for medical/medication carts for hospitals/nursing homes...LAME).
Turtleneck co-worker is still on a roll though. She showed up today on crutches. She told me she fractured her foot in two places...the bones in her foot leading to her "pointer toe and middle toe." Sadly, "pointer" isn't entirely an inaccurate way to describe her second toe, which is really long and sticks out of her peep-toe shoes and touches the floor. No, I'm not kidding. Anyway, she said it's a stress fracture because she spent the whole weekend working in her yard. Hey, you know who stress fractures happen to? Distance athletes. Not 300-pound women who work in the yard for a few hours once a year. I'm 98% certain she self-diagnosed.
Anyway, I'm sick of the sexism (see here: community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/65216178.aspx ) and sick of turtleneck co-worker, as amusing as she is to all of you. One of my co-workers listened to turtleneck get up from her desk today and then ran over to ask me a work-related question. He said he waited til she was gone because she always butts in when he tries to ask me things. Isn't that delightful?
I'm really excited for this new potential job, and while I enjoy entertaining you all, I hope that there is no one even remotely like turtleneck at my next job!
Good luck nailing your dream job, Katie! I'm sure you'll have stories to entertain us with from wherever you land, because there are freaks everywhere.
