Hahahaha I am loving the mental image this post gives me!
Our Max (the one who was attacked by our foster dog) has been on raw for several months due to a bladder condition (FIC). We didn't notice a ton of behavior changes, but he did manage to jump up onto the kitchen counters for the first time ever last week. He's always been too fat and has had knee arthritis, but apparently he's feeling better. We have seen no ill effects and tons of benefits from raw. What raw are you feeding? Are you making it or is it premade? We feed Primal premade raw.
I'm being pseudo-lazy about it, because I couldn't bring myself to grind my own meat (don't ask), but I also can't afford to buy the premade stuff.
I buy TCFeline plus chicken liver powder from a holistic pet store near us (yes, I'm one of THOSE people ), which I mix with water. Then I add in pre-ground chicken/turkey (organic if I can get it, free range, hormone free, etc if I can't). I mix it all together, portion it into 1 cup ziploc containers, and freeze.
The girls are now eating about a cup a day, split into 3 or 4 meals (I'm hoping to eventually get it down to two meals). The F5 took to it pretty much right away, but she was the one who went crazy for the weruva. The F6 is still hesitant, but will eat it if I dust powdered Bravo chicken bites on top of it (I have to grind them into a powder, otherwise she'll just eat the Bravo chunks - tricky kitteh!).
In any case, I only had regurgitation issues the first day each of them ate it (well, and the day when I tried using bravo fish flavored bites - those do NOT agree with the F5's tummy), and the litter box problems we were having are no more. Awesomeness.
They really are much more vocal now - and they've learned that "chicken" means food time and they go CRAZY with the chattering - and their "wild" sides are definitely coming out more. They're still cuddlebugs, though (right now they're both tuckered out, cuddled together next to me on the couch), which is nice. I would have been sad if they lost that.
