Do you have a will? If so, did you use an attorney or do it yourself online? If you used an attorney, how did you find him/her?
H and I have always talked about needing to do one, but now that the little guy is here we definitely need to do it. I just wasn't sure where to start, but thought you might be able to go online and just do one yourself. Oh, if you did use an attorney, how much did it cost?
We keep saying we need to do this before the baby gets here, and now time is creeping up on this. Our issue is we still don't know who we'd want to raise our child in the event of our death.
We took DH's grandma to have her will rewritten and I asked the attorney the costs for a will for DH and I. She actually recommended we also do a health care proxy, because in the state of Florida the spouse only has a say if it's literally a life and death situation. In the event of coma/long term care the spouse would need to go before a judge to be granted a proxy to make this decision. I think she said that two wills and two health care proxies would run us around $2500.

I don't have a will. We probably should, and there is really no excuse as to why we don't have one. I'd also recommend getting an attorney to do them. It does cost you $$, but that's one document you want a person to do, not an online webot.
H and I really need to do this, especially with almost 2 little ones! I would hire an attorney and do it in person. It's a pretty importnant document and they can probably give you bertter/more infor than just a website.
I think once one has kids, life insurance and a will are mandatory. It may cost a bit to use a lawyer to draw up your will, but it's worth it for the piece of mind of knowing that your last wishes will be clearly articulated and your kids will be provided for.
