i'd like to see what i actually do on a given day. i'm also thinking it'll help me lose more weight, because if i'm not as active as i thought, it'll help me get more active.
anyway, who has one? uw? i should get one right? i've always wanted a hrm but i didn't know which one to get. the fitbit seems easier.
I've had mine for about a month now and I love it. It's definitely made me more conscious of how active I am. Sometimes when I'm at home and I look at my counter and realized that I don't have enough steps, I'll stand up and start marching in place while watching tv or go run the stairs in my house a few times.
it's really easy to use and I like that it syncs with mfp.
One note: I lost my first one because I kept clipping it on my pants, so I switched to just clipping it on my bra and that's much better. They don't even care when you go through airport security with it on.
Mine kept falling off when it was clipped to my pants, so I wear mine on my bra too.
However, be careful going through security. I got "pulled over" for having it on going through security at SeaTac. Thankfully I didn't have to go through a pat down, but the lady made me take it off and throw it in my bin. Admittedly, I was wearing it on my pants that day.

I have one and I was really good about wearing it for about 2 months. I actually threw it on the charger last night to try and get back at it now that I'm not traveling a ton.
I love love mine. I'm obsessed with it (just slightly). I wear it on my bra every day, sleep with the arm band thingy at night, and wear it on my sports bra when I work out. I've worn it through airport security with no issues.
I need to get on the HRM deal.. I've been searching for the PERFECT one which seems to be the Polars.. I want it to count Cal and HRM, and I don't think the fitbit does either, if I'm correct?

Fitbit counts cals, steps, floors climb and total distance traveled
yep, uwhuskygirl is right. for any workouts that aren't runs, I put them in on myfitness pal and then the overall calories works out somehow magically, lol.
hm... i'm confused. so it does track cals right? that is what i really care about. i don't care about an actual heart rate monitor.. i just want cals...
yeah, you enter in all of your stats (height, weight, measurements) so it has an accurate idea of how many calories you burn (i.e H and I do the same stuff every day but he burns more calories because he's bigger)
it tracks calories, but since it doesn't have a heart rate monitor, any activity you do that's not motion based (walking or running), it won't track the calories accurately.
but, the integration with myfitnesspal is awesome.
so for example. yesterday I did a trail run, and golfed. the trail run worked perfectly with the fitbit, and accurately the calories accurately. golfing doesn't (carrying clubs around = calorie burner apparently). so I went to myfitnesspal, put in golfing as an exercise, and then the total calories burned per day updates back on the fitbit site.

It has an algorithm built into it that tracks calories in a straight-line basis based on how "active" you are, what the average calorie burn is for that level of activity, how long you're active, and how much you weigh. I would say it is much less accurate than a good heart rate monitor.
well i hope it's kinda accurate.. but i'll just go with it. it's worth a shot. plus, it seems super small and simple.
