Pardon my cursing, but I am SO pissed off right now! Cooper just brought a mother effing TURD into the HOUSE, dropped it on the LR floor, & was 2 seconds away from eating it before MH busted him!
It seriously seems like he's been shit-eating ever since its gotten colder out, but MH seems "convinced" that its been since we switched Coop to Fromm from Canidae when Canidae got recalled last year....but I don't think the timing adds up....I swear he did this last winter too & not at all any other time of year.
Ever since we've noticed him doing it, we have been diligently picking up the yard every freaking time we see one of them poop (50 flipping times a day I swear), but somehow he's still finding crap to eat! Then I bought some Nasty Habit pills & we were feeding that to both of them. Clearly neither have been working.
Guh! I am just FED up!!! We are almost certain he's not eating Taylor's at all, just his....but he will stick his long-ass nose underneath the chain-link fence in the backyard & eat the neighbor dogs poop...I swear those little si!ts purposely crap right along the fence line.....
Anyway DH is going to go get Canidae tomorrow & we're going to switch him back to see if that helps?? Otherwise Im at a loss at what to do!
*just did some quick research on Pinterest, looks like ontop of everything we have been doing, we can try adding some stuff to his food. Pretty sure all the hot sauce & meat tenderizer & stuff won't do the trick, we tried that before, but he loves pumpkin, we give it to him when his tummy is upset. Im going to pump him full of it & pray it works! ...& that it doesn't make him constipated Lol
Pour lemon juice on the poop after he goes. Also make sure you're picking up the poop when he isn't there. He might think he's doing something wrong by you picking up the poop.
At the vet I work at we recommend Adolphs meat tenderizer in the food for dogs who eat their own poop. Apparently it makes it taste bad (as if the poop itself isn't bad enough). We've had several clients tell us it worked for them.
