Yeah, I know, open door and all. But damn, my co-worker is dumb. It's sad enough that the over 40's have a very hard time working on computers (we're a legal office, so lots of computer work), but that the people in their early 30's can't seem to figure out how the interwebz and MS Office work is just really really sad. Makes me wonder how they ever finished college.
And really, we're trying to go digital and as paperless as possible. So why is it that you're trying to make me print out a prezi that's available and working online 'so you can practice'.
TGIF, After 2 days back in the office after the holidays, I don't think I can take another day with them this week!
I very often am amazed at how computer-illiterate people are. I work at a school with a lot of older teachers and they can barely use their emails. I can understand those in late 40s,50s....but 30s??? That shocks me....this person went to college??
OMG. One of the guys on my staff prints every.email.he.gets. Every one. I recently sent him an Excel doc, and he printed the whole thing. Including about 30 pages that were just BLANK.
I was like, "WHY did you print that?!" Oh mygod. He's on a printer suspension right now, and is only allowed to print necessary documents. We're also trying to go paperless, and I just don't know how it is going to work for him. lol.
I have a coworker who cannot, for the life of her, figure out how to use the copy & paste function. We have forms that need to be completed with information from a variety of sources. She types it all in, word....by....word, looking at one doc, then back to the form. What should take 10 minutes for the rest of us, takes her half a day to complete.
We've all showed her every possible way to cut and paste. She is an otherwise fairly intelligent woman with a college degree. I just can't wrap my mind around this issue.
