I'm starting a new thread for this week just to make it easier to find the fresh updates.
I'm reading Fool Moon by Jim Butcher (Dresden Files #2). THANK YOU guys for turning me on to this series. I am loving these books so far!
I'm listening to Lolita on audio. It's skeevy and creepy and disgusting and disturbing but Nabokov was a freaking genius and the narrator, Jeremy Irons, does a fantastic job.
I just started The Mysterious Benedict Society, which is a middle grade-ish book. It's really fun so far. I needed something that moved quickly after slogging through The Beekeeper's Apprentice. I didn't dislike it, but it was just so slow for me. Still working through Lost Antarctica but I haven't been in the mood for nonfiction.

Being in the US for the last month has seriously cut into my reading time, so I am still working my way through Captain Corelli's Mandolin and The Woman Who Died A Lot. I'm looking forward to getting back to my simple quiet routine in Australia and being able to read more.
I just started A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron. My sister said she cried a ton so I'm planning to pick up something else that I can read in public.

I finished the first Harry Potter last night and Chamber of Secrets is next. It was cute, but I definitely felt like I was reading a kids' book. Also, I've seen the movies, which made Sorcerer's Stone a bit unsurprising. I'm expecting more from the later books since I could tell I was missing stuff in the movie, and I think I'll like the teenager years better.

Chamber of Secrets is my least favorite. It's also kind of "kiddie" like the first one. But Prisoner of Azkaban (book 3) is my favorite. That's when the series really gets off the ground, IMO.
I have downloaded 11/22/63. I will start reading it tonight. After all the recommendations from this board and CEP, I'm really looking forward to it. Here's hoping it elevates me out of my reading funk.

I completely agree.
I think Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets are about the same in terms of enjoyment, but I agree that things start to get a lot better with Prisoner of Azkaban (and then I would say they keep getting better after that; Half Blood Prince is my favorite).
