Silly question, but my brain is a little bogged down by details right now. Two True's post made me think...
Pumpkin has always been in the carrier carseat. We have a base in each car, and just carry him in the carrier, and plop him in the base of whatever/whoever is driving.
He is getting heavy & I think it's about time we just carry him & buckle him in the carseat when we get there. Any tips to avoid having baby & no carseat? Or is it just time to buy a second (convertible) one----to leave one in each car. (Which means 4 year old Carrot can't use the once convertible we have and we'll actually have to buy two carseats right now....)
We bought one for each car so that life would be easy and we would avoid switching back and forth. Lol! I still think one in each car is best, particularly for emergencies. I just need to go install K's back in her car.
I totally agree with the 2 seat option. We bought a less expensive seat (Cosco Scenera) for L's car since they rode in her car far less than mine but we needed seats in there for when she picked them up/there was an emergency/etc. We had (still have) the Britax seats in my car.

omg - we bought the same seats for the same reason. K has the Scenera because JB is rarely in there and the seat fits well (we needed a thinner seat). I have the huge ass Britax in my car.

that is because in many ways we lead parallel lives.
