If you are one that has more "used" furniture, how are your local craigslists?
For me, most of my furniture is new because nothing good ever comes up on craigslist here. If it's good, it's as expensive as new and if it's cheap, it's crap.
We have mostly used furniture, but very little came from CL. Only a couple pieces. I usually feel it's crappy or overpriced. Or, a variation on crappy - it's nice quality stuff that doesn't meet my needs. e.g., my CL always has a TON of Ethan Allen and Stickley entertainment centers from the days of CRT TV's.

No idea. We have only purchased 2 pieces of furniture in the past 2.5 years since moving to this city. One of them was from a consignment shop, and the other DH selected off Craigslist, so I don't know how long he was looking for it.
I think more relevant than how good our CL is, is that we've been collecting nice furniture for 9 years. I think anywhere it is hard to just go online and find exactly what you need on CL, let alone from Goodwill or a consignment store, but we've been patient about it and snag the good stuff when it comes up.
Most of my used furniture is from antique stores or consignment shops (I get ridiculously excited about a good home decor consignment shop). My local CL here is pretty useless - it covers the entire northern half of the state - I'm not driving 2 hours to some Podunk for a used whatever.
Cl is crap. We have a local classifieds site that is okay (I found our antique solid mahogany dresser for free on that site), but the best stuff I've found is at yard sales. It's usually cheaper than thrift or consignment stores too. You just have to be really patient to find the right piece.

I agree our Craigslist is awful most of time. We have a china hutch from a bigger city Craigslist and a buffet I was lucky to find from our local Craigslist we also have a daybed we bought when we lived in the bigger city
I've done pretty well with our CL. I'd be happy to post photos- you be the judge if anyone wants. We're near some schools so students having to move quickly can be great scores. Especially foreign students and grad students. There's a lot of crap too of course but plenty to sift through.
Our CL is pretty good. It can be hit or miss, but there are definitely treasures to be found if you are patient.
We have really good thrift stores around here. Some of my favorite pieces that I have had a long time came from the thrift stores when we used to work near them. Now I shop from my computer more often than I make it to the thrift stores, so I rely more on CL.
At the moment I have my eye on some hand me down's at my mom's house. My mom inherited a few nice mid century pieces that I would love to get my hands on before we move.
I don't find much on Craigslist. I have way better luck with garage sales and our local Facebook swap/sale site.
I have scored some big deals at yard sales....I have a beautiful bookshelf that is painted the perfect shade of blue and all distressed - brand new! The lady bought it at a fundraiser/auction and never used it so I scored it for $60. Got a kitchen table I need to refinish for $75 off Facebook, as well as a 4 foot round coffee table for $40. This summer I got an antique single headboard with matching beautiful carved feet for $20.
