I love the beach but with a baby it's so damn hard what with all the sand in every fat roll and eating it and whatnot.
The local pool has a great toddler/baby pool but that also means dealing with all the ferals who will be there on a Sunday afternoon. And I will probably have to go on the 3-storey slide with DS1 which I hate.
We're in Adelaide, so the beaches here are pretty calm as they're in a bay type thing. No waves. Baby powder Dorothy!! I've not heard of this. Will try.
It's only 96 degrees right now, *only* but it sure beats 115 of last week. More heatwave to come next week. Fun.
Well, SCORE. DH is taking both kids to the beach, along with the neighbour kids + their Dad, and he can deal with the sand in cracks. I get to stay home in a/c & peace and quiet. I'm actually going to read my book with no one harassing me.

Uh oh. You know you'll have to put out, right?
Probably worth it, though.
Sent from the future.
Yeah, this. But when it's that hot I'd really rather just be indoors in AC. I also don't want to have to put a swim suit on. Ugh. Glad you got out of it!
I would put out for an afternoon of reading alone.
Also, I hate you for having this decision to make at all. Brrrrrr. The other day when walking for my train it was 7 degrees out. That's like... -15c or something ridiculous. Now it's warmed up to 27 and is snowing.
A loves the beach. When we went last week, he was in heaven. But we have a pool at home so for hot days, we tend to do that as its so much easier. In fsct, that's the plan for this afternoon! And also, with the pool, our fridge with cold moscato is only 2 steps away!
This sounds divine. I'm so jealous of those that live on islands. I wish I were born on one.
