for what I eat. Seriously I eat crap food. I try but i just can't get motivation to make myself dinner when it is just me. Therefore I just eat snacky foods. I am on My Fitness Pal if anyone wants to be friend and help make me accountable.
Could you take one night of the week and make a big batch of something to eat the rest of the week? Maybe make lasagna and freeze it in small portions and heat it up for dinner.

I do this when i do cook. However I am out and currently don't want to cook. Yes I know I should do it anyways. I guess i will go off to the store tomorrow and see what i can find.

Seriously. I will be your friend on there. It will make me get my butt in gear. I'll update my profile now. I don't buy snacky foods (or mack and cheese...) because if its there, I want it. That makes me get off my ass and go to the store specificallty to do that. And frankly, I'm too lazy most of the time.
I ate a popsicle for dinner and am pouting that I don't know how and do not have the ingredients to make potato salad. I'm too hopped up on Benadryl to even drive anywhere.
When I was pregnant (both times, but worst the first time because it was end of August) I would eat frozen green grapes. I couldnt walk past the fridge without chewing on one. But I also wouldn't keep ice cream or anything like it in the house because it just would be bad.

You reminded me I have a bag of grapes that need to be washed and eaten!
Joe had to throw away a carton of ice cream that had been in the freezer since before he deployed. It was freezer burned and I have my heartburn to thank. My indigestion was so bad a few hours ago I honestly thought I might have been having a heart attack.
H left ice cream in the freezer too. It is almost all gone now. And he hasn't been gone long.

I'm the same way. When H's gone (which is a lot) I eat junk or cereal. I despise leftovers so the whole "make a big batch of this shit and eat it all week" method doesn't work out for me.

Potato salad is SOOOOO easy! I have some I made yesterday in the fridge too bad I can't send it to you over the interwebs!
Peel and quarter about 10 medium sized potatoes and boil them with about 3 eggs. Cook until potatoes are fairly soft but not mashed potato soft and eggs are cooked. Drain water and let cool. Peel your eggs and chop fairly small add to your potatoes. Chop up one small red onion add to your bowl with potatoes and eggs. Chop up about 4 sweet pickles and add to bowl. Pour about 1/4 to half a cup sweet pickle juice into bowl. Add 1 can drained black olives. Add about 1 cup mayo about about 1/4 cup mustard. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix all up. YUMMY! Its my mom's recipe and its so so easy!

I keep a ton of fruits and veggies on hand. I cut them up and put them in snack bags. Tonight, the kids had baked chicken strips that I premade last week. I threw a few of those in a bowl with an avocado and a bumch of other cut up veggies. It was yummy. I tend to do that pretty often. My kids love salads, though, so salads are on the menu a few nights out of the week. Maybe you can keep things like that on hand. Bake up a few chicken breasts one night during the week. Save a couple for salad toppings, make a chicken salad for sandwiches or to stuff into tomatoes, make chicken wraps, burritos or tacos. There are so many things you can do with baked chicken. If you don't have time to bake it yourself, go grab a roasted chicken from the store.

This is great thanks. Usually I try to buy more veggies and healthier snacks. Last time I went grocery shopping i was clearly in a junk food frame of mind.

I don't have sweet pickles, only Claussen. Would that work?
Yep! I use sweet because that's what my mom always did but you can use any kind you like.
This worked for some friends of mine: try brainwashing yourself to like good foods. Like every time you pick up the cookie or crave something bad for you, tell yourself no, I DESERVE something good for me. Start talking to yourself like eating bad food is being mean to yourself. Tell yourself you love yourself, like to be alive and deserve to have good foods that are good for your body. It does help to have someone in the house reinforcing this new set of food values sometimes, but sometimes it feels like harassment when coming from the outside. Doing this to yourself will help diminish the deprived feelings when you don't get those tasty bad for you treats. Reward yourself with things other than food, like a back rub or pedicure or new shoes or something. No more glorifying your bad foods like they're the actual "good" thing in your life.
