How old are your kids and are they still napping? If not, how did you know they were ready to give them up?
Mine is 3.5 and still naps 2-3hrs when he is not at school. So he naps 4-5 days a week. We're on school holidays now and he's been napping every day. Today he won't. Does this mean the end is near? He always looks tired so I encourage naps as much as possible.
If your kids gave them up, did you end all naps entirely, or keep a few per week? KWIM?

I don't think it means the end is near necessarily. Claire probably has 1-2 days a week where she won't nap, and it's been like that for 4-5 months. She does have to stay in her room for at least an hour and "rest" by reading books or whatever - I plan to continue doing that once she no longer naps. It catches up to her and then she'll take a long naps for a couple days. Her usual nap is about 1.5-2 hours, but she does have a 3 hour nap every once in awhile.
Jameson turned two in October and has been skipping nap a few days a week. He still for sure needs them, but he is SO busy it is hard to get him to slow down. Hopefully this is a phase, but it's been going on for a couple of months. When he does go down he will sleep for 2-3 hours. I wouldn't mind if he would just sit and watch a show or something for an hour, but he just wants to go, go, go, and then is a crab at night.
That's helpful, thanks ladies. I just sent DS1 back into their room, he woke up DS2 after 40 mins! by standing at his crib and singing to him! grrr! but I put DS2 on the boob for a bit, and a stern voice to DS1 and they are both down now. Crisis averted, for now.
What will we do when they won't nap?! We'll have to read and play and do puzzles ALL.DAY.LONG.

R is 2.5, we've gone through a couple nap regressions at 2 and again at 2.5 where she didn't nap for a week or so, but they always come back (so far). She normally sleeps 1-4 PM.
ETA: I knew she was NOT ready to give them up because by 4 in the evening she would just start melting down and basically not stop until bedtime. Good times.

H will be 4 on the 16th and still naps for about 1 hour a day. She was a 45minute napper as an infant...She has gone on nap strikes before but always comes back around. It helps that she naps at school 3 days a week. She needs her nap and I can't push her bedtime any earlier should she give it up.
Mine still naps with the occasional day that he skips. There have been times when it was super hard to put him down before but he needs it, especially to catch up if he is at school all day. Currently he is usually a pretty compliant mapper

We have mandatory rest time where DS 1 has to stay quiet in bed... Naps 4-5 days/week, he protests every time but honestly I need a break. Over the holidays DS2 pushed his naps to not overlap with DS1, I miss my 20-30 mins of quiet... Will be working on getting them overlapping for a few minutes sanity if possible!
Henry stopped napping pretty early - I think after 2.5 he never napped unless sick. We enforced "quiet time" until 4.5 years old, though. An hour and a half in his room, playing quietly.

DS1 napped until he went to Kindergarten, so age 5. Even when he started all day Kindergarten, he still needed a nap. Around 2:00 he would just become a bear. The teacher instituted Yoga and dim lighting so the kids could relax around that time every day.
