My husband wants to go to Atlantic City with his parents and sister for his birthday in March.
I would probably like to stay at Revel, because I've heard that it is much more Vegas-like than other Atlantic City hotels, and stays at Borgata and Harrah's have left me completely unimpressed.
But... it looks like Revel is having some serious financial troubles:
Yes, because they ere just given a big chunk to aid in operation costs. Who knows if it will last until next summer as the article suggests. But I would expect business as usual come March. Have fun! We went to AC for a night a few months ago and had some great meals.
I'm pretty sure it'll still be in business and if I was staying anywhere in AC, it would be Revel. It's the only casino that doesn't allow smoking which is a huge plus for me. We go to the other ones to eat at the restaurants sometimes and I always feel dirty after we leave because the cigarette smoke is overwhelming. We went to dinner at Revel and I could tell the difference - it's a really nice place.
CloudBee, where did you eat? That will be the next struggle (struggle in that we're coming from NY and his sister is coming from DC, so we probably would prefer to go to restaurants that don't have locations in NY or DC, and his parents have pretty simple tastes in food and won't want to go anywhere with a menu that is foreign to them).
As a lawyer who works almost exclusively with PE funds and financial sponsors, putting in additional equity is a last ditch effort, but it's intended to help the business function and hopefully recover. I would expect business as usual and feel fairly comfortable staying there.

I need to ask my husband as I can't remember the name of the restaurant. I ate burrata!
