So the pediatrician we've been taking DD to doesn't take our insurance, so we've been paying out of pocket and it hasn't been cheap, to say the least. I just now got a notice from our provider that they will not be reimbursing us at all for any of her visits. Not a penny. DH and I talked about the possibility of this happening and agreed that if it does, we have to find a new pedi for her to go to. I'm so sad! I started to cry once I read the letter. I adore our pedi- she is the perfect combination of old school mentality and the new, modern thought process & practice. Though the doctor I think we'll send her to now seems great and people seem to love him, I'm still a bit heartbroken

I'm confused. Was your insurance going to pay you for the out of network provider?
I knew we wouldn't get 100% reimbursed, but when I spoke to our pedis office about it ages ago they said the few patients they had who had our insurance did get some money back. When I called our provider to discuss it they said they would review our claim and would likely be able to do something about it. Apparently that's no longer the case.

Ohhh, gotcha. Yeah, i would've been scared to put the money out. A bunch of people here have been denied coverage for ER visits because the insurance decided their conditions weren't severe enough for an ER visit. WTF.
