Sophia is perpetually in this club as well. No on both accounts. She has fallen twice trying to reach a toy....progress?? Still not on all fours, no crawling....sigh. I'm starting to look at myself with pity! She is 9 months today.
How could I forget you in our possee?!?!
Yippee!
I wish my pedi would reassure me it's a big baby thing, all she said was, "I haven't read any studies on that." Lie to me, lady!
Sophia is big, at her 9 month appointment she was 21 pounds (85% percentile, that actually dropped from 93%), 29 3/4 inches long (98%) and 18 inch head (91%) As we say in this house, "She a biggen'"
angiekay - if it makes you feel better, my pedi told me (once) that it might be a size thing. Madison's stats (her appt isn't until next week) will be similar to Sophia. Madison might be slightly shorter (I think 29 inches) but she's at least 21 pounds and her head is 18.5 inches.
But my pedi fluctuates between, 'she'll get there' and 'come back next month, she might be delayed'.
I think Cam's behind because of his weight too. He's 22lbs 10oz, and probably 29in or more. He's a big, big boy. No wonder he can't crawl.. he can't hold his body up!
I know this doesn't go for everyone, but I know you and I have some chunkier babies and from talking to C's pedi who has reassured me time and time again, chunkier babies tend to be late bloomers!
This is great news! I never knew that. Milas nicknames are The Chunk or ChunkBelly.
Audrey is in the "doin' nothing" baby club as well. She gets to her belly sometimes from sitting, but I don't think it's on purpose because she yells at me when she does.
Per our PT's orders, we never put Audrey down in a sitting position. We put her down on her belly, roll her to her side and pull up on her arm and she helps push with her other arm (exactly like in dahli's picture). I think this is supposed to help her learn to sit, but she hasn't caught on yet.
J can finally go from sitting to laying on belly on purpose, mainly to reach things. However, since he doesn't crawl, and loathes tummy time, he gets pissed about it pretty quick. Going from laying to sitting is a long way off.

This is exactly what we do, too. It's really hard for me to push up with her arm though.

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding how this works. Don't you just end up pulling her up with one arm? What is to make her push?

I can't really make her push. I try to get her to support herself with the one arm and show her how to push up. I'll try to take a video tomorrow to show you because I can't really explain it.
