I recently lost 15 lbs and have about 5ish lbs to go to my goal weight. I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning (with a splash of milk each cup) and spend the rest of the day drinking water. I have a 20 ounce glass that I fill and then add 1 Tbs of lemon juice for flavor. I find myself drinking water nearly all day long and typically will easily drink 100-120 ounces of water per day and sometimes as much as 160 ounces of water.
I can't imagine this is bad for me but wanted to check with you gals. I find that continually sipping on water keeps me from snacking all day. I do eat three meals and two snacks per day and am carefully watching my caloric intake.
Anything to be concerned about? Or okay to keep up with the water intake and count my blessings that it works to keep away the munchies?

i am trying to get into the habit of drinking more i drink only about 50 oz of water a day. i wish i could drink as much as you do - keep up the good work
I probably average between 100-120 oz. I have a liter water bottle that I fill up twice while I'm at work; sometimes more. I drink at least another liter at night and while working out. Sometimes it's more (like during the hot humid months) & sometimes less during the winter.
I think a minimum of 3 L during the week. I drink a mocha in the morning but the rest of the day is usually water. I will usually down an extra liter (maybe 2) during/after exercise.

i drink about 96 oz/day (maybe an extra 24-32 if i exercise hard).
160 seems over the top to me - after awhile, the benefits of water outweigh the need to stop and pee every 5 minutes. i have 3 kids - if we set foot in a public restroom, it takes a good 20 minutes to get out! the automatic soap and paper towel dispensers are just too tempting for 3-5 year olds!!!!

Although rare, you can drink too much water and make yourself sick. It's usually in circumstances like extreme sports when you're drinking a ton of water and not adequately replacing lost electrolytes therefore creating an imbalance, but it is possible. I doubt you'd be at risk of that, but I'd only drink if you're thirsty. Drinking just to drink wouldn't hold many benefits.
I don't know and I don't care to know. I drink when I am thirsty and that seems to work just fine for me. If you have to pee every 30 min, you are drinking too much. If your urine is colorless, you are drinking too much.
I usually get in about 60oz, but I aim for 80oz - more if I workout or I am out in the heat. I have a 20oz bottle, my goal is to finish it on my drive to work, then get another one in before lunch, one more before I leave work and then one on the way home. Weekends I don't usually drink as much unless I am working out outside.
I try to get 80oz a day but drinking water has been the hardest part of my weight loss. Before I joined WW I would drink a cup of coffee in the morning and that would be it for the day. I was never thirsty and never looked for anything else. Now as soon as I get to work I fill up my bottle and try to drink all day. I even have an app on my phone to remind me to drink throughout the day.
I agree to go by the pee test. Your urine should be a pale yellow, not clear. If it's clear than you're probably drinking too much water.
Drinking a lot of water flushes the sodium out of your body. Your body needs some sodium, so you need to replenish it if you're drinking that much. However, that mainly only happens to people doing extreme activities like running marathons and such, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
To answer your question though, I drink water all day long too.
I drink +64oz a day M-F (I refill my Nalgene bottle at least 2x/day) but it's a lot less on weekends. I think it's just a convenience thing. When I'm sitting at my desk all day, it's in front of me but when I'm on the go or even just at home lounging, I don't think about it unless I'm thirsty.
Not much, really. When I'm thirsty I go drink some water. It used to be almost none, but since pregnancy and breastfeeding, it's probably about 30-40 oz/day.
Any time I've tried to drink beyond thirst, I get a headache and spend my day peeing. I don't see the point.

I.am.so.jealous.
My kids are scared of the flush, panic at the sight of the hand dryer, and generally spend time in public restrooms trying to escape. After several awkward toddler-opening-door-and-running-while-mommy's-pants-are-down incidents, I now have the bladder of a camel.
It doesn't stop me drinking 80 oz of water a day, though.

My drinking (LOL) can vary. On 2-a-day days I drink 120-150 oz. On days when I've only got one workout, it's more like 100 oz, and off days are probably closer to 80oz.
The rule I've always followed is half my weight in ounces as the minimum. So if I weigh 150, my minimum ounces is 75.

I do think it's possible to drink too much water, and 160oz might be pushing it. However, it doesn't sound like you're forcing it down.... maybe you're just naturally more thirsty than others?
I typically drink around 80-100oz. I rarely keep track though.
