Just got back from Chicago. Going to TX and LA for work-related stuff. Argentina/Brazil after that (work again). Renting a house on the Outer Banks for a week with the kiddo. My parents want to go to Punta Cana for my father's 70th bday. We'll have to see what we want to do after that. I really want to take DD back to Europe (we went to Sweden when she was 3 months) and my DH hates beach vacations so I will take suggestions.
Atlantic City to see Phish next month Montreal for our 2nd anniversary Other camping and random weekend stuff TBD I want to plan a big trip but there's too much up in the air now
Headed "home" a few times this summer. My BIL is turning 30, so he's got a surprise Bday Party awaiting him (this will be in the Middle of Iowa) and a Wedding (in the middle of Nebraska).
In September we are going to Ireland, half work trip (me)/ half Anniversary Trip.
I need to hurry up and finish school (graduating in December) so we can go back to having good vacations. Until then...
Going to visit my sister and try on wedding dresses (for her) at the end of June Renting a cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee for a week in July. Possibly trying to go visit my dad in Florida for a long weekend this fall, schedule permitting
Planning my graduation trip for next February, open to suggestions. Criteria: sunny beach laziness alcohol ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I am so jealous. In February, we visited family in FL and don't have any other vacation plans. DH wants to go back to Las Vegas, so we maybe we will go there in the fall.

We went to visit family in NM and MO for Spring Break in April. In July, we are taking our son to Disneyland for his 7th birthday. We aren't going to tell him until the day we are leaving, and I'm so excited to see his reaction.

-What do you have booked? Jackson Hole, WY (go every year) in July, a beach in Michigan in July for FIL's 60th bday -What are you considering? FL for Christmas to see family, at least one trip to DC to see family -Where have you been recently? FL in March for a family wedding, DC at Christmas. We don't travel anywhere too exciting with a 1yo.
CloudBee - I've been to Guam! My parents lived there for a few years. Imagine the states but about 10 years ago, along with some rampant poverty and areas of high end resorts. It's an interesting place - lots of discrepancies between the tourists, the residents, and the miliary. Check out the cave where a Japanese soldier hid after the war - pretty interesting. For food - this place was pretty fun, VERY casual www.jeffspiratescove.com/
The snorkeling is excellent, definitely plan to spend a lot of time doing that. You can walk out for a very long time in chest deep water, and there are lots of holes in the coral to explore. Just don't go beyond the breakers, and there are a couple areas that are known for bad currents, so do some research.
As for me, heading to St. John in a month, and trying to work out a November trip - possibly to Hawaii, possibly to Australia or somewhere in SE Asia.

We have a wedding reception in the Midwest later this year. That's about all we'll be able to do this year. We want to go to Disney for DD in a couple years.
I have grand plans for a long European vacation, but the money is not in t he bank yet. Maybe in 3-4 years after socking away some bonuses.
-What do you have booked? -What are you considering? -Where have you been recently?
I have Ireland, Guam, and Saipan ahead of me this spring/summer. We finalized plans and finished booking flights yesterday. Woot!
Anyone have insight on the two latter destinations?
We got back from Hawaii about 6 or 8 weeks ago, and are also considering a return trip to Iceland in the late fall. Either Iceland, or Texas. Right now Iceland is coming in as less expensive, so we are leaning towards that. Go figure.
Are Guam and Sapian on the same trip?
For Ireland, my only recommendation is to take the ferry and go to the Aran Islands for a night. They were the highlight of our trip. When our friends honeymooned I suggested it to them and they didn't think they'd go. When they got back they told me they decided to go and it was their favorite spot too. It's a cattle in the street kind of place with a fort right on a cliff. You can go right up to the edge and look down at the ocean (preferrably on belly, so you don't fall over the non-barriered edge).
We are going to Cape Cod for a week in June (free timeshare and driving distance - very MM). In August we are going to Disneyland for a week. We are planning a day trip down to the San Diego Zoo or the Wildlife Park. It's the first long plane ride with DS, his longest so far is 3 hours and we are flying Boston to LAX non-stop.
I have nothing planned at the moment. But we are debating between Yellowstone and Iceland late summer/early fall.
Ooh, I'm hoping to hear from someone on here who's been. We're going in August - flying into Jackson Hole, then driving to Yellowstone, then driving to Mt. Rushmore/Badlands, then flying out of Rapid City.
My travelling companions are my teenage sons, so I expect this vacation to suck. I'm infringing on their video game time by making them dooooo stuff.
Anyone been to Newfoundland? DH really wants to go and we are researching a big 10-14 day trip for next summer. I looked at airfare though and we could go to Europe for the same price. It does seem scenic there, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but not sure what the highlights are aside from Gros Morne.
At least I've finally convinced him driving/ferry to there is not an option.
DH and I are going on a cruise to Spain and Italy in June.
We will probably go to the IL's beach house in July.
My BFF and I are planning a trip somewhere in Sept. We will go wherever we get a deal. Some places we are considering are Europe, Machu Picchu, and Costa Rico.
nothing big planned for this year. h used all of his vacation time on dumb shit. our big splurge is vip music midtown tickets and a super nice b&b right down the street. so, not really going too much out of town, but you wouldn't know it by the cost.
we went to st. thomas for a little over a week in december. that was my surprise gift to h.
I'm heading to San Fransisco in a few weeks. So excited!
Will this be your first time in SF? I have never been. Do you have any specific plans while you're there?
First time! It's part of my birthday gift.
I'm going to eat, eat, see Alcatraz, eat, meet Starlily and volenti, and eat some more.
Bee- how much is Iceland costing you? I can't remember if we talked about it or not. You're at an advantage because you don't live in the Midwest- cheaper flights.
