I LOVE the bed, but I think I could come up with something like that by shopping in my basement. It reminds me of what my boy friends' (not boyfriends...lol) rooms looked like when I was a kid and the character bedding wasn't so popular - simple and whatever the parents had around.
And I think the wood is still there, they just put the world's biggest carpet remnant down probably b/c a boy who is going to put fatheads on the wall probably isn't the cleanest. Then again I wasn't allowed food or drink in my room as a kid.
Why cover up those beautiful hardwoods with carpet? Blech. I don't understand that console table though - seems rather hotel-ish. Hopefully there's a desk somewhere in there.
I really love that light fixture, and but oy why the wicker? It looks bizarre in YHL, and it only looks marginally better in this professionally done room. Maybe they should have just spray painted the old upholstered chairs?

And changing the light, chairs, and putting stuff on the shelves does not seem like "oh wow I hired a professional decorator!" To me.
Anyone know where I can get a boys bed like that, though? I like it.
Lol! You know that book disclaimer, "any resemblance to persons, real or living, is accidental...?" Nobody at Phoebe Howard has heard of YHL, I guarantee it! lol Their website is ages more professional than the blog - I kinda wonder about them not spiffing up the blog. www.phoebehoward.net/home.aspx

That bed looks like an antique one my parents have.
I totally think it is cheating to not show the fatheads on the wall. It's like doing a closet makeover and only showing an after will half your stuff back in the closet.
