Well, DH worked hard and got the walls primed for the guest room! No more red and odd blue walls! We decided to go with functional gray for our guest bedroom.
Before:
Our 3 choices are from left to right: Requisite gray, Functional gray and the next one in the color swatch I can't remember the name of! LOL!
And yesterday and today we took wall paper off the adjacent bathroom. It's still not finished yet. We need to move the vanity to get all the wall papers off. The tub and the toilet are gray. Almost same as the SW functional gray we picked for the room. What color should we paint the bathroom? The tub and the toilet aren't going anywhere for a long time.
The bathroom floor is a marble tile floor. It has red veins. I can't decide what will look good with gray tub & toilet & black counter top with this floor! Help please!
For the guest room, I like the middle grey color. It looks like a Cape Cod grey to me.
To figure out what color to paint our bathroom (we had weird veining in our marble floor) I dropped paint swatches on the floor and picked the best one.

I think as regards the bathroom, since the tub and toilet are both gray, I'd choose something NOT gray. Honestly, I think it would be difficult to get ready for the day in an all-gray bathroom. Additionally, I wonder what it would do for skin tone if you had to put on makeup in the mirror, KWIM? If you did do gray, do one a few shades up on the chip.
Some part of me wants to suggest a really pale pink for the bathroom walls. But your H might not go for that.
I actually want a different color than gray but just can't figure out what. I am not a pink fan in general but I thought of pale pink considering the tile. But you are correct. DH vetoed pink. Also the bathroom is in between two bedroom and the other bedroom is for my toddler boy. So pink won't work.
Won't it clash with the pink in the tile? Ugh, I just want to get rid of the tiles but DH says they are expensive marble so doesn't want to get rid of it. Also floor update is low on the priority list. Not to mention he will have to do most of the hard labor
I'm a total lurker from the old D&R board, so sorry for the random response. I wouldn't do a dark color or gray in the bathroom. Does it have a window? I think the room would be super dark or it would be weird putting on makeup and for your skin tone. I would paint a lighter taupe-ish color or something more cream-based and try and find a fabric for a shower curtain or window shade to tie it all together. Maybe something along these lines?
MrsLCH! Welcome and thank you! I love those prints! I will have to PIP the bathroom later when I get there but the vanity top is granite looking black corian so I am having a really hard time picking a paint color.
I wouldn't be too concerned about shower/tub color. You're going to cover it with a shower curtain right? Without thinking about the shower/tub color, what about doing a brighter sage-ish green? Not like lime green, but a fresh avacado color. Or a purple would look pretty too. A friend of mine had bathroom similar and ended up doing greige-ish purple. It looked really pretty.
