St Augustine has all of that. Lots of historical stuff, shops, restaurants, beaches, etc......

Also, Anna Maria Island is cute for that type of retreat. or nearby Siesta Key is more crowded but the sand is so soft and white!

Definitely St. Augustine! Great shopping (near by outlets and a great mall twenty mins away in Jacksonville), tons of history, including the fort, fountain of youth, oldest school, a couple of religious/cultural places, several beautiful churches) great food, very easy to walk around, great beach. I love going there!
