My right nip is demolished. She killed it yesterday. We are in the wonderful easily distractable stage right now. I read that this phase passes after a month or two. I'm going to start carrying a calendar.

Um, scary! How did she do that??? Im most scared of breastfeeding, everything else I am ready for (or so I tell myself!!!)
From what I've read it's a normal phase they go through around this time (5 months). Every little thing distracts her and she'll turn her head to see what it was without coming off her death latch. Normally I'm on guard but yesterday she got me good. TMI but the sucker may never get soft and relaxed ever again. It does feel much better after a very warm shower though. Breast feeding is awesome though. Just get through the first 2 weeks with as much help as you can get, and it is worth it. The bond is amazing. It makes my heart feel like its going to explode. My goal was 8 weeks, now I'm shooting for her whole first year and going right to cows milk (maybe almond milk).
My annual was supposed to be today and I was going to ask my Dr to see what's going on. I woke A up from a nap (she rarely naps so waking her from one is like an abomination) and we headed out to make 2:30. On the way there the office calls and tells me I just missed my 2pm appt and would I like to reschedule and that will be $25 for a missed appt fee. mannnnn. Luckily there was a cancellation on Monday morning but my nip might not make it that long. It hurts. I don't know what it's deal is. It looks fine but the thought of nursing from it makes me cringe. I'm still doing it but it is not comfortable.
Oh and boo that they are going to charge me. I've seen the same Dr for 11 years and never missed an appt. I'm going to try and get her to help me out if it. I was about to walk in the door when she called. A measly 25 minutes late. Ughhhhh.
