Crummy update #1: The family member of mine who was trying to buy a 'daisy dog' (it's a poo-mix, of course) from a uber-BYB-mill DID decide not to get from said mill--she actually went to her mailbox and took the check back out of the mailbox at the Mr.'s and my insistence.
She instead bought (and didn't tell us ahead of time this time so we wouldn't talk her out of it) a papillion from a breeder (BYB, IMO) that she used before. Puppy came home yesterday. Puppy was super excited to go outside because "he's never seen grass before". Insert choking "ARGH' noises here. (Of course, the reasoning was that they couldn't trust a shelter-dog around Buffy...yet this wee tiny thing that Buffy may break in half in a heartbeat is OK. [yes, I'm working on this w/ Buffy, but, she's not quite 2 and 'gentle' is not innate])
On POSITIVE updates:
Dawg's legs are better again--yay! I still have NO IDEA why the knees go out periodically. But they've been doing much better again recently. And she's back to her healthy summer weight, yay! And she has decided the BEST place in the world to lay is under the slide while Buffy is sliding. So she can guard
El gato is still fat and lazy and bulemic--the Mr. (barefoot, of course) somehow managed to step in cat puke at the top of the stairs this morning--which is extra odd because El Gato accidentally got locked in the furnace room by me last night --and La Doof Kitton doesn't puke at the top of the stairs, that's El Gato's puke place. The 'tap finger tips together' El Gato call is something Buffy has learned. El Gato, however, is suspicious of small humans so won't come. although she will stand still for gentle pets.
La Doof Kitton is...himself. He tried to shove a cake off the table and onto the floor last night, but I was to speedy. Or just lucky.
Every morning, once Buffy is up, he climbs into Buffy's crib to hang out and steal her blankies. She thinks this is funny and reaches through the crib bars to pet him.
Buffy has learned "no, dow' is the appropriate thing to say to La Doof Kitton constantly--because he's on things he is being ordered down off of.
He had 4 milk-rings in the closet last night, and he is currently convinced there is some great prize living under the oven (there is not. I have moved the dang thing to check. NOTHING THERE)

Yay for LDK, El Gato, Dawg, and Buffy updates! I love your clan.
Sorry to hear that LDK may have picked up where El Gato left off as regards puking. That's no fun, but I'm glad they're at least tolerant of Buffy and it's too cute that she's learned "no down" ...
they are special. La Doof Kitton is currently eyeballing me because he's slightly damp. He's slightly damp because after I chased him down and took away his refrigerator magnet (I have no idea why he wanted it, but I didn't want him to eat it), he decided to keep trying to eat my kindle cord. the 4th time I removed him from the area, I used the squirt bottle. He's now glaring at me.
Actually, he quit glaring and is running away with a hair-clip. Damnit.
